Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie Died At 79

Christine McVie died in her sleep at the age of 79. The Fleetwood Mac singer died “peacefully” in a hospital on Wednesday morning, November 30, after a “short illness.”

“It is with great sadness that we inform you of Christine’s death. She died peacefully in hospital this morning, Wednesday, November 30th, 2022, after a brief illness. She was with her family at the time “Her family said in a Facebook statement.

“We respectfully request that you respect the family’s privacy during this extremely difficult time, and we would like everyone to keep Christine in their hearts and remember the life of an incredible human being, revered musician, and universally loved musician.”

 

Fleetwood Mac paid heartfelt tribute to the singer on Twitter, calling her “the best musician anyone could have in their band.” “There are no words to express our sorrow at Christine McVie’s passing,” the statement said.

“She was truly unique, special, and gifted beyond measure. She was the best musician anyone could have in their band, as well as the best friend anyone could have. We were extremely fortunate to share our lives with her. We cherished Christine deeply, both individually and collectively, and are grateful for the wonderful memories we have.”

 

Christine became a member of Fleetwood Mac in the 1970s, and the band went on to become one of the most famous and successful rock bands of the next 20 years. Rumours, the band’s most popular album, was released in 1977 and remains one of the best-selling rock albums of all time.

McVie’s death comes two years after the group’s founder, Peter Green, died at the age of 73.
