Kanye West’s lawyers are going to tell him that he’s been taken out of a newspaper ad
Kanye West’s lawyers want to tell the rapper that they are no longer working with him by putting an ad in the newspaper. According to court documents, the Yeezy designer “ghosted” the lawyers from the firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, leaving them with no other choice.
TMZ got a legal document that said there was “a breakdown in communication” between Ye and the law firm when they tried to tell him they were no longer representing him. The company says that the “Donda” artist turned off the phone number they used to use to contact him.
Because of this, his legal team is using “alternative means” to get in touch with him, like putting ads in two L.A.-based newspapers and making public the judge’s order that lets them drop out of the case. The move, which is called a “multi-pronged approach,” is meant to “inform him of the Withdrawal Order,” which would mean that he would no longer be a client.
“Publication of the Withdrawal Order’s contents in two newspapers in the Los Angeles area, where Ye seems to live, will also let him know about the Withdrawal Order,” says the legal filing. “Because Ye is well-known, the release of the Withdrawal Order is likely to get a lot of media attention, which will lead to a wider release and make it more likely that Ye will hear about the Order.”
Greenberg Traurig had been Ye’s lawyer in his case against Ultra International Music Publishing for stealing someone else’s work. Judge Analisa Torres agreed with the law firm’s request to stop representing the troubled star on November 30, 2022. However, the firm only has two weeks to serve him with the necessary court papers.
Not just the law firm is having trouble getting in touch with Ye. Thomas St. John, the Chicago star’s former business partner who is suing him for breaking a contract, also said that he was missing because he couldn’t get in touch with the rapper. Thomas said in his $4.5 million lawsuit that Ye hired him as Chief Marketing Officer of Donda and paid him $300,000 a month, but then stopped paying him.
Recent news stories said that the musician and his new wife, Bianca Censori, were starting a new chapter in their lives. The couple supposedly got married in a private ceremony in Beverly Hills, but since they haven’t filed a marriage certificate, the marriage may not be legal.
It was also said that after the wedding, the rapper and the Yeezy architect went on their honeymoon in Utah. Daily Mail says that the troubled star and the Yeezy architect spent time at the Amangiri resort last week.
